All you need to know about the Ross on Wye Cancer Support Group!

We are a small self-help voluntary group run by people living with, and affected by cancer, working on a community basis since 2016 covering the Ross-on-Wye and surrounding area of this important market town in rural Herefordshire.

We are here to support anyone affected by cancer, either directly or indirectly regardless of age on a non-discrimination basis in a friendly and empathetic way. The chair, Paul Baker, having worked for many years in the cancer field was encouraged by the Macmillan Information Centre in Hereford County Hospital to set up a cancer support group to serve the local community.

Our Mission:

  • To create a sense of community and support for those impacted by cancer
  • To provide a safe space for sharing experiences and gaining valuable information
  • To ensure that no one in Ross-on-Wye faces cancer alone
We meet on the first Tuesday of every month at a local venue in Ross on Wye 18:00 – 20:00. Venue and timings are published on our Events page. We are also hosting other events for our members, so please keep a look out for these on our events page.
We welcome everyone—patients, caregivers, families, and friends.

Help us with a donation

Our donations will help us reach more people in the local community. We endeavour to put donations to good use to improve the quality of lives for people affected by cancer in our local community.

We are aiming to create a sense of community and support. A place to obtain information for people with cancer and all those affected by it, including carers, family members and friends.

We look to put on events and use donations to fund these in the local community.
